It’s an embedded flash type, 8-bit high-performance 1T 8051 architecture microcontroller. Its instruction set is fully compatible with the standard 80C51 and has enhanced performance. It includes up to 32 Kbytes of main flash APROM, supports In-Application Programming (IAP) for on-chip firmware updates, and allows any block of the user code array to be configured as non-volatile data storage. There’s also extra flash LDROM for In-System Programming (ISP), configurable up to 4 Kbytes. It comes with a lot of peripherals, including 256 Bytes of SRAM, up to 2 Kbytes of extra RAM (XRAM), up to 30 general-purpose I/Os, two 16-bit timers/counters 0/1, a 16-bit timer 2 with a three-channel input capture module, a watchdog timer (WDT), a self-wake-up timer (WKT), a 16-bit auto-reload timer 3 for general use or as a baud rate generator, two UARTs with frame error detection and automatic address recognition, an SPI, an I2C, up to 12 enhanced PWM output channels, and a 12-bit ADC. The peripherals support 4-level priority interrupts with 18 sources.
